The ArtVenturous Travel Conference was born from the success of the Maboneng Township Arts Experience, an award-winning movement transforming township homes into creative destinations. The conference builds on this by creating a national (and international) space where policy meets play, dialogue meets design, and the township economy meets global opportunity.

We’re not just imagining a future where art, sport, and tourism create jobs and pride — we’re building it, together.

Alexandra Township was intentionally chosen as the home of the ArtVenturous Travel Conference because it represents resilience, creativity, and the untold stories that define South Africa’s cultural identity. Rich in history and vibrant in artistic expression, Alexandra is a living archive of music, film, fashion, and community storytelling. By hosting the conference in Alexandra, we aim to spotlight local talent, celebrate authentic township narratives, and create direct opportunities for creatives within the community.
